Christmas 2009

Greenfields would like to say a very big thank you to all our volunteers without whose help Greenfields would not exist and who have put so much effort into helping the dogs in 2009

In the Staffordshire Moorlands:

Ann Johnston for all her wonderful work on the website (without Ann and the website we would not get half of the home offers we do)

The team at Churnet Valley Vets especially Pat Kinch (without whose time and dedication we would not be able to provide such good medical care)

Jo, John and Tom Hayes who come every week to take the dogs out for a lovely long walk and stuff them full of treats not to mention all the time and expertise given over Christmas when the three of them insulated all the kennel roofs and installed electric heaters so that our dogs could be warm. Thank you so much guys!

Jason Dix, our intrepid home checker, who drops everything at a moments notice and will go anywhere to do a homecheck. An absolute lifesaver!

And all the people who walk dogs when they can, send us donations throughout the year and often turn up with food and treats for the dogs.

A VERY BIG THANKYOU to Danesford Dog Training Club who were very welcoming when we went to give a talk on rescued Greyhounds. Harold and Edna were very well behaved and really enjoyed all the fuss and attention they received. We were astonished (and very grateful to receive a cheque for £500.00 which was so very kind of them and really makes a big difference to a small rescue like ours.

Thank you to everyone  who came to the Belmont Hall in Wellington, Shropshire. It was a successful event and, as well as receiving lots of donations of food, collars etc for the rescue, we were also able to raise awareness of the plight of greyhounds. 

Thank you to Welshpool Council for allowing us to use the Town Hall for our coffee morning and for the money they raised for Greenfields, 

 A thank you to Gail and staff at the Guild Hall in Oswestry for our get together.  Despite 5 inches of snow we still had a lovely time with the greyhounds!

Mark from the Stanton,  Chirk, very kindly held a quiz at his pub and donated lots of lovely raffle prizes.  The money raised on the night was donated to Greenfields.  Thank you very much to Mark and all his customers and merry christmas to you all!

Toni Bernard 

In memory of a lady who devoted her life to her own rescue dogs.  Her family have kindly sent a donation in her memory to help the greyhounds.   God bless Toni Bernard,  your kindness goes on.

Big thanks to Vanessa Atkinson who very bravely had a sponsored hair cut and had all her flowing long red hair cut off to raise money for the dogs.  What a kind supporter with devotion to the hounds, thanks once again!  (I bet Dingo didn't know you).

We would like to say a big thank you to the friends and neighbours of Diane Robinson and her dog Patrick who live in Lostock Green, Cheshire.  So many people made a donation to us after meeting the lovely Patrick while he was out walking with Diane.  Zilpah Hoffman donated her Christmas present money to us and Mr and Mrs G Naylor of Warrington gave a donation.
